A castle of Amblainvilliers belonging to the Prince of Condé was built replacing the feudal fortified castle built between the two river beds of  the Bievre. THen the castle was sold as a national property during the Revolution and destroyed by its new owner in 1796.

The Verrières forest is a national forest located in the Essonne and Hauts-de-Seine departments in the Ile-de-France region.

The wildlife is this forest is very rich and varied.

The actual mill was built in 1827 but ceased all activities in 1914 due to the lack of men. It has been bought back by the municipality in 1985 and serves for association purposes.
