Musée d'Art Moderne de la ville de Paris
The Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris is hosted by "Palais de Tokyo". Collections of modern art of the city of Paris are brought together in the eastern wing of the building, with its exceptional architecture, situated along the seine river, with a view of the Eifel Tower. Le Palais de Tokyo was constructed for a universal exhibition hosted by Paris in 1937. Unveiled only a few years later in 1961, thanks to various works of art donated by "le petit palais", the museum has been enriched by the generosity of collectors and their contributions, and was later completely renovated in 2006.
The walls of the museum also host institutions linked to the imagery and sound of "Cinematheque francaise", the National Centre of Photography and the European foundation of careers in image and sound. Inside the museum, the collections of modern art of the city of Paris retrace the totality of all twentieth century art movements such as Cubism, Expressionism and Fauvism in works of art by famous artists of this movement, but also current trends in modern and contemporary art. These works of art are in the forms of various media (painting, sculpture, photography, video...)
