Panthéon

The Panthéon is a neo classical monument located in Paris in the center of the Latin Quarter. Originaly, it was built in the 18th century as a church in order to house the reliquary of Sainte Geneviève. This monument has now the purpose to honor the people that made the history of France. Its different successive destinations, its décoration, the inscriptions and the symbols presented there, allow us to discover the , slow and contrasted, making of the French nation. This monument is open to the public and is runned by the « Centre des monument nationaux ».
