The towns and villages of the Menton countryside all share a joint history thanks to the Lascaris family. Descendants of the Byzantine family who produced several Nicaean (Greek) emperors, one of them Theodore II had a daughter who married Count Guillaume-Pierre of Vintimille (Italy) in 1261. The day also includes a lunch with a selection of local specialities.

A day spent discovering three exceptional gardens with a gourmet picnic.

Your first visit will take you to Italy to explore the Hanbury Botanic Gardens. Back to France for lunch in the romantic setting of the Fontana Rosa Garden, where a gourmet picnic awaits prepared by one of Menton’s Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurants. Next is a visit to the garden with a tour guide. Continue exploring in the garden of the Maria Serena Villa still accompanied by your guide.

Roquebrune, Gorbio and Sainte-Agnès: old stones that recount the history of the Menton countryside.

From its coastline to its hillside villages, history has left its mark on the Menton area. The walls, churches and remains all bear witness to a turbulent history.

Roquebrune village invites you to discover its fortified château, built in the 10th century. As for Gorbio, this little village with its multitudes of churches will plunge you into the magic of bygone days. Sainte-Agnès, the highest coastal village in Europe, is also classed as one of the most beautiful villages of Europe. The day also includes a lunch with a selection of local specialities.
