Musée des Beaux-arts - Palais Carnolès
The Palace Carnolès, a former palace who belonged to the Princes of Monaco, is now a museum of art which has a priceless collection, the Museum of Fine Arts in Menton. Although the museum and its collections are outstanding, the monument itself is also very impressive and deserves the attention of visitors. This palace, which served as a summer residence of the Princes of Monaco is a richness that deserves attention.
This house has golden doors and finely decorated ceilings and gorgeous wood floors. The Museum of Fine Arts presents a large number of ancient and modern works, whether carried out by the XII Italian primitives in the fifteenth century, Flemish painters or Greek, etc..
The set is certainly eclectic and is characterized by taste some of Mr. Wakefield, English amateur who bequeathed his collection to the city of Menton. For him, there were only aesthetics, and that's what makes the link between his works. Thus, visitors can discover in this palace, rather sumptuous, beautiful paintings and sculptures.
