Tourism - Franche-Comté



Franche-Comté is a region of France that has four departments: Doubs, Jura, Haute-Saône and the Belfort Territory. Main cities are Besançon, Lons-le-Saunier, Vesoul and Belfort.

The Comtois heritage attracts many French and foreign visitors. It is a land of rich traditional heritage as well as a land allowing sports activities and cultural events such as wines and cheeses tasting, cycling tours, concerts and many more. Also, the traditional and religious architecture has a strong identity marked by the strong and varied constructions, such as the bell towers and many fountains that match the landscapes. Therefore there are numerous charming villages such as Maillroncourt-Saint-Pancras, Dampierre-sur-Salon and Beaujeau.

Many sites are to be explored as well as constructions or geological phenomenons such as Fondremand, Oselle Caves, Lods, Metabief, Granvelle Palace, the Pharmacy of the Hospital Saint-Jacques, the Peugeot-Citroen factory, the ‘Recules de Baume-les-Messieurs’, ‘Les Rousses’, Perello Shop in Belfort and the Lion of Belfort.
