Founded in 1817, the Musée des Beaux-arts of Lons-le-Saunier is located in a wing of the current city hall. Visiting this museum is a must for visitors in Lons-le-Saunier in search of a cultural heritage. The collections of the Musée des Beaux-arts of Lons-le-Saunier is divided in two sections on two levels: one with 250 sculptures based on the ground floor and dedicated in part to the sculptor Jean-Joseph Perrand, a native of Jura, who won the Grand Prix de Romein 1847.
