Tourism Besançon
Besançon is the capital of the Franche-Comté, located in the east of France. This region is quite near the Swiss border. Besancon is also the prefecture of the department of Doubs.
The city has one of the most beautiful historical centers of France, with many old stone buildings, some dating from the Middle Ages and others dating from the Spanish Renaissance.
