Tourism Vesoul
Located in the department of Haute-Saône in Franche-Comté region, the town of Vesoul is the capital of the department. During the Middle Ages, the town of Vesoul develops around a castle, now vanished, and surrounded by walls in the thirteenth century. The city is known for its high quality wine, popular with the Dukes of Burgundy, for his judicial work and for its great fairs.
The town was partially destroyed in the fifteenth century, but again know prosperity during the Renaissance. Vesoul rebuilds around the church of St. George. The model is still that houses dating from the Middle Ages (rectangular house with a turret staircase, adorned with Gothic motifs and coats of arms of the owners.
During the eighteenth, the city is growing very important and equip itself with beautiful mansions. We construct a courthouse and a church, the Church of St. George, whose architecture is typical of the eighteenth (hall church decorated with rococo motifs). In the nineteenth, the city entered the industrial age and the suburbs are growing as evidenced by the art-nouveau houses and art deco.
Take time to stroll through this city rich in history and discover its many green spaces such as the English garden, the hill of the root ball or the green corridor.
