Jardins d'Argences

When we talk about the Gardens of Argences, we must talk about their creator, Caroline Lecardonnel. She was in the past a journalist for many famous French newspapers and on the radio. She bought in 1989 a mansion and lawns on which grew the grandiose gardens, real floral masterpieces. Caroline compares these gardens to a book she wrote, as writing is her other passion. Speaking about he gardens themselves would be useless, you have to wander around them to truly enjoy their beauty. However, I can give you figures to demonstrate the quality of the work of the gardener: in 1999, only one year after the gardens were open to public, she was awarded the Bonpland prize, for the greatest private garden in France. In 2003, she was elected best gardener of her area and in 2009, she was awarded the «Best park» Briggs and Stratton prize and represented France at the European finals. The work of this enthusiast gave the Gardens of Argences an international reputation.
