Musée du Masque de Fer et de Fort Royal

The Museum of the Iron Mask and the Royal Fort (formerly the Museum of the Sea) is an archaeological, arts and history museum in Cannes, with the "Musée de France" label.

The most imposing building of the fort, known as "the Old Castle", built in the 17th century on top of Roman cisterns, is divided into two areas: the prisons and the museum.

The Museum of the Iron Mask and the Royal Fort, officially created in the spring of 1977, presents archaeological remains from land and underwater excavations and explanatory models.

Rooms opening onto a vast terrace are reserved for temporary exhibitions.
