Thann, the beginning of the Alsace wine route
Thann
We suggest you start this tour to explore the Route des Vins d'Alsace through the village of Thann. After entering the Church of St. Theobald, a jewel of Gothic art in Alsace towards the tower witches. Inside, you will visit a museum that will show you the Alsatian vineyards and different geological aspects of the vine.
Then you will visit the Museum Friends of Thann. Discover the history of the city as well as local traditions.
Museum of Alsace
Finally, you will discover the museum of Alsace. In this lively village recreated from scratch, you can experience authentic Alsatian buildings. Costumed actors will make you live traditional work area using old tools.

You will start the second day by Eguisheim. This is one of the most beautiful villages in France. You will love the beautiful houses with pointed roofs, by the bright colors and half-timbered facades.

Then you go to Colmar, the capital of Alsace wines. Come enjoy the "Little Venice", a very authentic part of the city. Do not miss the Church of St. Martin, where unfold some beautiful terraces in summer, the Church of the Dominicans or the Pfister House. During the fourth day, you take the direction of Barr. Feel free to stroll through the historic center remarkably preserved, which has many beautiful half-timbered houses.
Itterswiller
Then, go find Itterswiller. This village is prestigious gastronomic. You can enjoy the "Fruehmess" specialty of the town. Obernai, you will discover the charm of this city. Do not miss the market square, the Town Hall, the Corn Exchange, the Belfry or the Well Six buckets. Note that in October, vintners Obernai put the spotlight on the new wine at the Festival d'Automne.
Marlenheim
It is Marlenheim that ends the famous Alsace wine route. You will find many half-timbered houses from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century and enter the church Sainte Richarde.
