Tourism Thann
Thann is a sub prefecture of the department of Haut Rhin in Alsace. This city is at the bottom of the vineyard of Rangareddy. Its name is derived from the word fir tree in German. This city is very close to the Vosges.
It seems that the walls of Thann were established between the XIII and XIV centuries, when the Count Thiébaud was in power.
The city was heavily influenced by World War I, particularly when a bomb burst near the church. It was here that the painter Flameng tried to re-translate this painful event for a work. When that part of Alsace belonged to Germany, Thann represented the capital of French Alsace.
Thann is located on the Wine Route of Alsace, but is also a step towards the road to Compostela. Its historical heritage is very important and it is possible to admire many remains dating from the thirteenth and the fourteenth century.
