Tourism Fournès
Fournès is the oldest village of the Canton of Remoulins. Its dominant hills were inhabited since prehistoric times. Visigoths, Saracens occupied our territory.
Located on a hill Fournès contained in its walls stretched around a castle, built in 1150; some remains are still visible. The castle was captured and burned as a result of the religious wars of the sixteenth century problems. The old church, which was located in the upper village was ravaged by fire in the thirteenth century. It was dedicated to Saint Peter and to Our Lady of Beaulieu to which they attributed the cure for many ills.
