Tourism Gap
Gap is a town in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur in the south east of France. It is the capital of the Hautes-Alpes, historically attached to the Dauphine, a former French province of the 11th century who gathered at the time the Hautes-Alpes, Drôme and Isère.
Despite the extensive restructuring initiated by urban Ladoucette Baron in the early nineteenth century, the structure of the city center should be understood as a historical continuity. The urban layout of the old center of town is the legacy of a medieval fortified hamlet consists of a set of plots shaped by man, which brings a surprising historical heart of this city.
Enhanced by rehabilitating facades in a harmony of pastel shades, the streets have retained their charm and actively participate in current downtown revitalization. Tourists will have the pleasure of walking on the Place Jean-Marcellin, made fun of friendly cafes and terraces. Life and city intermingle in this place. Over the colored squares and pedestrian streets they will enjoy the scenery. Statues, fountains, facades full color, colorful stalls and delicious, it's a small universe in the midst of lush mountains that offer to any visitor who is present.
In addition to the buildings that comprised Gap, there is a rich culture. There is something for everyone: a touch of heritage, a pinch of museum, churches (Saint-Andre the Franciscans, St. Roch, Our Lady d'Espérance, of Latter Day Saints) and Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Arnoux are present in Gap.
