Embrun
Embrun is a town of Celtic origins. It was the capital of the "Cottiennes" Alps at the time of the Roman Empire. In the 4th century, it became the seat of a bishop and a cathedral town and from the 9th century until the end of the 18th, an archbishopric.

Golf on the plateau of gap bayard
In the summer the plateau becomes an 18 hole golf course, unanimously appreciated by the specialists, who take over when winter activities end. The course combines the quality greens and fairways with the spectacularly beautiful mountain setting.

The mountain of ceuse
Situated approximately 20 kilometres from Gap, it's a climbers paradise. The mountain is a perched syncline, its eastern rim is a limestone cliff with excellent climbing routes as well as a "Via Ferrata", while the western part shelters a ski resort situated at between 1,550 and 2,020 metres. The national forest of around 1,200 hectares offers numerous hiking, horse riding and mountain biking trails

This circuit extending 45 km around Gap is designed for hikers, horse back riders, or mountain bikers to discover the city's surroundings in complete tranquillity.
