Champagne-Ardenne is a region of France located in the north east of the country and has four departments: Ardennes, Aube, Marne and Haute-Marne. Main cities are Charleville-Mézières, Troyes, Châlons-en-Champagne.
The Champagne-Ardenne region is one of the most natural regions in France. In the department of Haute-Marne one can stroll along the rivers, on the hills and in the green valleys. The Aube and Marne department offer the ‘wine of the kings’, the famous Champagne. The Ardennes department and its rich architectural and historical heritage is a true open space museum with its fortified castles such as the one of Sedan, citadels and fortified churches. It is also the land of the ‘ Crêtes ’ with its landscapes and forests, valleys and hedged farmland. In addition, the forests offer numerous possibilities for activities such as hiking, horse riding, and cycling. Water sports, swimming and fishing lovers can enjoy the rivers and lakes of the forest of Lorient and Der.
Finally, Champagne-Ardenne hosts nulerous music festivals as ell as the famous international puppets festival in Charleville-Mézières and the intrnationales graphic arts meeting in Chaumont.
