The Abbaye-aux-Hommes was founded by William the Conqueror in Caen. The building is located in the west of the city centre and gave the name of Bourg-l'Abbé to the surrounding district.

The building became a high school in the 19th century, then the city hall in 1960. The Abbey is a beautiful architectural construction that was built between the 11th and the 18th century.

The Abbaye aux Dames (Women's Abbey) was completed in 1060 and is dedicated to the Holy Trinity of Caen. It was built under the orders of Mathilde, William the Conqueror's wife.

The Chateau de Caen is dating from the 11th century. Today, the castle serves as a museum that houses, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Caen (Museum of Fine Arts of Caen), the Musée de Normandie (Museum of Normandy) along with many periodical exhibitions about arts and history, in the castle residence; Saint Georges church; the Échiquier de Normandie (Exchequer of Normandy).

The Memorial de Caen (Caen war memorial) is a museum dedicated to the 20th century.

This museum of which the theme is based on peace is located in Caen which is near the landings beaches and which has undergone massive destruction during WWII.

The Mont-Saint-Michel is a town located in the Manche department in the Basse-Normandie region where the Mont-Saint-Michel abbey is located.

The architecture of the Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay makes it to be the most popular tourist destination in Normandy and the second most popular in France. A statue is placed above the abbey church at 170 meters high. This site is listed as world heritage by UNESCO.

The Haras-du-Pin is a stud farm is located in the commune of Le Pin-au-Haras in the Orne department in the Basse-Normandie region. 

The Haras-du-Pin was built under the reign of Louis XIV at the end of the 17th century and is one of the most beautiful stud farm in France. It was also the first stud farm to be built in France and has 23 buildings and is listed has historical monument.

Tatihou is an island located in the north-east of the Cotentin and facing the city of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue. It is reachable by foot when the tide is low. The island belongs to the Conservatoire du littoral and is not inhabited permanently. It houses a museum on the fort located on the island as well as a botanical garden and an ornithological reserve.
