Combe-Laval corrie

Discover a unique heritage site spanning approximately 962 acres in the heart of Drôme.
If Vercors was often compared to a vessel or a stone citadel, the Combe Laval is certainly one explanation. Isolated from the rest of the region through this spectacular corrie cliffs sinking more than four miles into the bastion of the Vercors. The scenic road clinging to the rock offers visitors spectacular precipitous of hundred meters.
Go to the "col de la Machine" or the viewpoint of the road to get an overall vision of a gigantic notch in the edge of the Vercors.

Vercors and resistance

In July 1944, the Vercors was the scene of the tragedy of a rebellious people with the destruction of the village of Vassieux by the Nazis.
However, life will be the strongest and the new village will be rebuilt on the ruins of the old.
