Le Cachot

The dungeon is located in the rue des Petits Fosses, the bottom of a former prison Lourdes. It is in this room of 16 m² that Soubirous lived from autumn 1856 to autumn 1858.

It is here that Bernadette Soubirous leave the cave to meet 18 times the Virgin Mary. Renovated in 1995-1996, we can now find a room stripped of all furniture.

Today, the Dungeon belongs to the Sisters of Charity of Nevers and Christian Instruction.
