Tourism Riquewihr
Riquewihr is a village in the department of Haut-Rhin, in the Alsace region. Its reputation is that it's a charming village. Its reputation is beyond the region, it is even known in Europe. Its origins date back to the Roman period, which we can still find some remains.
Located in the center of a vineyard, this medieval town has a very impressive architectural heritage. It is located within a lush woodland setting. Overlooking the plains of Alsace, this village is an opportunity to admire the beautiful scenery of the Rhine valley, stretching from the Alps to Sélestat.
Its houses and its streets are witnesses of earlier times, because the village was spared by the wars, so everything is very well preserved.
Riquewihr obtained, by an independent association, the label of the most beautiful villages in France.
