Pyrénées-Atlantiques is a French department that is part of the Aquitaine region. It is surrounded by the departments of Landes, Gers and Hautes-Pyrénées as well as Spain. It is also bordered by the Gascogne gulf. The main cities are Pau, Bayonne and Oloron-Saint-Marie.

The Pays Basque is a land of contrast: with the La Rhune summit, the St Jean de Luz beach, the huge Iraty forest and green valleys of Adour and the Bidasoa.

The Bearn mountains are located in the middle of the regional natural park of the Pyrenées, which is stretched from Ossau and Aspe to the Aure Valleys. In summer activities are hiking, cycling, paragliding, refting, fishing and ski in winter.

Finally, the local culinary produces are the espelette pepper, Bayonne ham, Garbure, the Irouléguy wine or the Jurançon wine.
