Tourism Dijon
Dijon is the main city of the Côte-d'Or department and the Bourgogne Region in eastern France. Dijon is probably most famous for its mustard but it is also one of the most beautiful cities of France who was lucky to escape bombing during the Second World War. With an exceptional architectural heritage, one of the first protected area in France, the city of Dijon has 97 hectares of remarkably preserved monuments.
Symbol of elegance, the fully preserved historic center with its Palais des Ducs, its mansions of the fifteenth century, its beautiful half-timbered houses and churches including the Cathedral Sainte Bénigne, the Church of Saint-Michel or the Church of Saint-Philibert in Gothic style, its museums (the Museum Amora, Museum Fine Arts major European and the archeology) attract the attention of tourists and are part of the many treasures of the city of Dijon.
This former capital of the Dukes of Burgundy seems to be nestled within lush greenery. Indeed, Dijon has many gardens and parks that offer visitors an opportunity to relax and recharge after their discoveries cultural monuments and museums.
