Tourism Ajaccio
Ajaccio is the regional capital of Corsica and the main city of the department Corse-du-Sud . An elegant city to live in and discover, Ajaccio and its prestigious museums, the streets of its old town and of course, the golf of Ajaccio and its long beaches, has kept the charm of a small Mediterranean town, rich and varied in architectural heritage.
Ajaccio has many places to visits. Ajaccio, the imperial city, is a site overflowing with history being the birthplace of Napoleon. The child of Ajaccio is present everywhere, in squares and as statues such as the square of Charles de Gaulle where one can find the famous statue of Napoleon surrounded by his four brothers.
Religious festivals are strong moments that mark social life in Ajaccio and its various markets which take place in city every day. In the admirable cirque of mountains that surrounds it, Ajaccio hosts the elegant and bright sunlight and charmed visitors at the gates of the city, authentic villages and wild rivers, beaches, fields and snowy mountains, all of which characterize the richness and diversity of Corsica.
