Lons-le-saunier

This monument is discretely hidden at the end of a small courtyard that is closed by a beautiful gate dating from the 15th century.

The municipal museum of archaeology in Lons presents an important collection of local archaeology (canoe dating from Bronze age discovered in Chalain...).

They are located near the village of Doucier in the heart of the "Region des Lacs" (The lakes area). The source of the Hérisson river is in the lake of Bonlieu at altitude of 805 m. It drops down to the Doucier plateau at 520 m.

At the number 24 of the Rue de Commerce, the house where the creator of the famous La Marseillaise, was born.

Since 1892, in the heart of the splendid 'Parc des Bains', the Ledonia thermal baths are using the benefits of salted water rich in trace elements for regular thermal treatments or for Well-being/fitness treatments.

In the vineyards located between Lons and Arbois, erosion has shaped corries such as the Cirque de Baume located 19 km from Lons. The village of Baumes-les-Messieurs is located at the convergence of the three valleys and is famous for its old abbey.
