Itterswiller as a lizard in the sun

This wine making village has managed to take advantage of its exceptional situation, in creating more services such as hotels, restaurants and shops to welcome tourists as well as the restoration and decoration of private and public places and buildings. Itterswiller also is proud to have obtained the prestigious rank 'with four flowers' in the national contest of flowering.

The church has a tower of which the three levels are dating from the 12th century and from where sculptures of a man and rams are watching passers-by. In 1919, the upper part was rebuilt in a Neo-Romanesque style. The sacristy placed on the eastern wall is more recent. Inside the tower, wall paintings dating from the 14th century depict the Last Judgment.

The twinning between the small wine-producing city of Itterswiller and the small Breton island of Bréhat in the Coasts of Armor was signed in October 1975.

The Breton beautiful island and the charming flowery city of Itterswiller on the 'Mount of the Bees' have maintained a sustainable relationships since then. Here there is a lot of pink granite. Itterswiller and the Island of Bréhat are two holiday destinations, two wonderful sites and tastefully complementary. A warm and perennial friendship.
