The chapel is consecrated to the Virgin of Pain where Saint Quirin is also revered. The chapel is the oldest monument of the village. The choir is dating from the middle of the 15th century. 1658 is the date indicated on the chapel's door also indicated the the restoration date after the Thirty Years War.

During the Revolution, the chapel was used as a stable and was given back to the church after the Concordat. The chapel has a mysterious history and has a legend. Left unspoiled during WWII, the chapel was used as a church from April to September 1945. The chapel has a 'Pieta' and beautiful stained glass windows put up by the 'maison OTT' in 1900.

The Mosaic is a work of art created in 1993 by Artist Gérard Brand from Obernai under the impetus of Irénéé Valachie, the Parish Priest.

The Mosaic depicts the resurrection of the Jesus and the Saint Patrons of the Nazaire and Celse Parishes. The Mosaic is 70 m2 and has been blessed by Canon Pierre Zirnheld for the 40th anniversary of the church consecration.
