Musée de Bouxwiller et du Pays de Hanau
The museum was created in 1933. The purpose of the museum is to present the history of Bouxwiller and the county of Hanau-Lichtenberg. The original site was located in the chancellery building who is now the Town Hall. The museum is undergoing extensive renovation work and so the exhibition is thus limited and proposes some art work on popular traditions of the Pays de Hanau (furnitures, costumes, traditional objects and so on) as well as on the history of Bouxwiller when it was the seignioral résidence and the capital of the hanau-Lichtenberg county. The musuem displays three paintings by Giacinto Gimignani (15th centuty).
