Parc L'Observatoire de Haute-Provence
Famous for its excellence in Astronomy, Observatoire de Haute-Provence receives the public with the guided tour of the great dome and the iconic 193-cm telescope. The tour continues with the screening of a documentary on the activities of the OHP.
Each year, it receives 11,000 visitors.
The observatory was located on this site for the purity of the atmosphere of Forcalquier. Indeed, the number of usable nights for photometry is exceptional. Established in 1936, it will be in service between 1958 to the first large telescope of 193 cm.
