Le Gros Horloge
The Gros Horloge (Big Clock) is a pavilion of the Renaissance consisted of a bell tower, an arc, a clock and a fountain. It is one of the symbolic monuments of the city of Rouen that possesses the title of historical monument since 1862.
The belfry dates from the fourteenth century, while the astronomical clock is derived from a later reconstruction, the sixteenth century. The pavilion houses a museum that tells the history of this building and the city of Rouen. It also offers a panoramic view over the rooftops of the city and the Notre-Dame Cathedral.
