Palais impérial
The imperial palace of Compiegne located in the department of Oise is the second name of the castle of Compiegne! This building dates from the 18th century and its construction was an initiative of Louis XV. In the 19th century, it was Napoleon who first give the castle a second life by organizing restoration work, including the apartments. They will be restored and refurbished. It was during this period that the park will be built.
The palace has some importance during the Second Empire. Napoleon III will allow the castle to expand with the construction of a large gallery and the Imperial Theatre to move there. He spent many moments in this castle and organized banquets a week with a hundred guests. Today visitors can explore this magnificent castles, visit the apartments, discover the park and admire the famous avenue des Beaux-Monts over 5km long!

Free: children under 26 years, practicing teachers, the unemployed, the disabled, members of Friends of Museums societies of the palace of Compiegne and the first Sunday of the month for all.
