L'abbaye de Caunes Minervois
Built in 780 on an old area Gallo-Roman, the abbey is located in the municipality of Caunes-Minervois in the Aude department
Over time, the abbey was acquired by the Viscount of Carcassonne, and the Counts of Barcelona, to be finally recovered by Trencavels family. In the Middle Ages, it even becomes a stage for transalpine pilgrims who want to go to Saint-Jacques de Compostela (Via Tolosane).
Since 1948, the buildings are classified historical monument.
