Details	Throughout the weekend, you will discover the medieval city of Carcassonne. In the heart of the Aude, the town is at the center of the main roads linking the Atlantic to the Mediterranean and the Massif Central to the Pyrenees.

Carcassonne, medieval city

After arriving the night before, you will start the day by discovering the Comtal castle. We recommend you to visit this monument, built in the twelfth century, at the opening. The queue can be long later in the day.

Castle of Comtal

Inside, you'll see the different periods of construction of the residence. You will discover the courtyard and you will reach the court of the South. Your tour continues with the walkway, the Visigothic tower and finally the theater. From there, you can see the vineyards and the Pyrenees.

St. Michael's Cathedral and Basilica of Saint-Nazaire

Then go find the Cathedral of St. Michael. The building contains a large nave and a bedside formed a large apse and apse. Then you can enter the Basilica of Saint-Nazaire. Built in the sixth century, it was not until 1898 that it received the title of basilica. You will discover five arches falling from both sides in five columns with capitals. Note that only the two closest capitals of the door are original.

Museum of Fine Arts

Then you can go in the Museum of Fine Arts. Housed in the former Présidial, you will discover a rich panorama of Western painting XVIIth, XVIIIth and XIXth centuries.

To explore the Cabrespine

After a good night's rest, during the second day you will discover from the Cabrespine.

Hiking

Instead of visiting only the abyss, we advise you to leave your car at Trassanel. We suggest you do a little hiking. Based on this city, you will then climb the Rock of the Eagle valley Petrusac. Then you go down the Cabrespine. In this place, a passionate guide to geology and speleology will explain the formation and discovery of the place. Then, you will reach the ravines Matte Arnaude and Laura. Finally, you arrive at your starting point. The landscape is simply magnificent.

This hike takes between 5 and 6 hours. Feel free to bring a picnic.
