Tourism Deauville
Deauville is a town in the department of Calvados, which is located in the Basse-Normandie region.
Originally, his lands were only marshes and pastures for sheep and cows. It was around the 1860s that the city made its debut as a seaside resort. Many architects contributed to the development of this Normandy seaside resort.
Today it is one of the most prestigious of France, with many of its activities, as its casino, luxury hotels, villas classified, its racecourse, its marina, and convention center.
Being known to be a rather luxurious resort, it is not uncommon that hosts many celebrities of film, music, television or politics.
Since 1975, Deauville hosts a festival of American cinema. Each year, feature films and short films devoted to the cinema of the United States are competing in the International Center of Deauville.
