Tourism Colmar
Colmar, a town in Alsace, is the prefecture of the department of Haut-Rhin. It is ranked third largest city in Alsace in terms of population.
Historically, it is part of the Decapolis, a league of ten free Alsatian towns belonging to the Roman Empire.
Colmar is located in the heart of the vineyards of the Alsace region, so it is called the "wine capital of Alsace." The profile of these wines were already in the Middle Ages!
The city has a rich cultural heritage, including the fact that it houses one of the most visited museums in France, the Museum of Unterlinden. Walking through its streets is a pleasure, as is classified Colmar city flowered with the highest label (four flowers) since 1984 and has won several nationnal Grand Prix of flowering.
