Charavines is situated in the department of Isère in the Rhône-Alpes region.
Charavines town, known specially for its Lake : 6 km length, 1 km at its largest, 392 ha, 5th France natural Lake, 500 m altitude and the water temperature gets to 25° in a summer time.
One of the first human community of Isere lived on its sides, 2 700 years before JC.

For the heritage, you can visit the exhibitions in the Grange Dîmière of the 17th century and classified as "Historic Monument", museum of the Lake of Paladru.
Charavines is situated in 15km of Voiron, city of 21 000 inhabitants where you can visit the Caves de la Chartreuse, the Mainssieux museum and roam in the pedestrian streets.
