Tourism Bayeux
Bayeux is a town located in the department of Calvados and region of Basse-Normandie.
Bishopric seat since the IV century and sub-prefecture of Calvados, Bayeux is famous for its tapestry recounting the form of embroidery conquest of England by Guillaume le Conquérant. It is exposed in the City in Centre Guillaume-le-Conquérant.
Located a few miles from the landing beaches, Bayeux was the first town liberated. Since it retains a rich architectural and cultural heritage.
