Day details 

Take direction Meyrueis, cross the bridge (D 986), before Coperlac neck, admiring the panorama of Saint Chely du Tarn Caussignac and after stopping at the Roc des Hourtous and Roc de Serre which offer a panorama of the Gorges du Tarn, circuses St Chely du Tarn and Pougnadoires. 

Continue towards Meyrueis and visit the Aven Armand cave underground with concretions and exceptional Hyelzas farm caussenarde the past: museum of rural life, next to the cooperative offers cheese from sheep's milk (the Fédou) artisanal meats and take-out or eat at picnic plate, watch out for hours depending on the season. 

Traverse the Causse Mejean and reach Meyrueis Free tour of the village of Meyrueis Monday, Wednesday and Friday (excluding holidays). 

After visiting Meyrueis towards Le Rozier to explore the gorges of the Jonte which rises to Mount Aigoual (D996). 

Les douzes, in this hamlet trailhead climbs up the chapel of Saint Gervais. Make a stop at the House of Vultures: museum, observation deck, cameras and interactive videos about the life of vultures, duration: 1 hour minimum, open from 10am to 18H (July and August) 

Le Rozier at the junction of the Jonte and Tarn: 

  • either you continue to Millau (city of leather) to admire the highest viaduct in Europe 
  • either you turn right towards St. Enimie and gorges of the Tarn 

Circus of Saint Marcellin is the start of a path to the semi-troglodyte village climb rough but sure reward for the panorama, green signs. 

Les Vignes, Romanesque church of Saint Préjet. Make a detour to Point Sublime, turn right towards the vineyards of Saint George of Lévéjac then retrace his steps towards Sainte Enimie 

Les Détroits,, the Cirque des Baumes and le Pas du Soucy, rocky outcrops where the Tarn sneaks between huge boulders from the cliff collapsed. 

The hamlet of La Croze on the other bank of the Tarn. 

La Malène where you can take a boat down by season, Malene La at the Cirque des Baumes, 13km to explore the gorges otherwise. The boatmen will explain the flora and fauna, zero risk even for those who can not swim! " See also the Chateau de Montesquiou (not visited) and the Romanesque church. 

Continue to Hauterives being renovated hamlet located on the opposite bank of the Tarn: dry stone walls, slate roof, people crossing in a boat and have a winch for the goods. 

A little later, the castle of La Caze built in 1490 (not visited). 

The picturesque village of Saint Chely du Tarn, bridge, waterfalls, Romanesque church of the twelfth century, the bread oven in the square, take the right lane of the crepe, which will take you to the Notre Dame built in Cénaret entrance of the cave. Discover the Auberge de la Cascade recommended for its local products !!!!!!

At Sainte Enimie, direction Balsièges / Mende.

Stop at the panorama of St. Enimie then crossing the Causse de Sauveterre

A Balsièges Marvejols take direction. 

A Marvejols, stopping to explore: 

  • The gates of the city seventeenth century 
  • Statues of the Beast of Gevaudan and Henri IV 

Continue towards the park Wolves of Saint Lucia (8 km after Marvejols towards Aumont) 

The wolves of Gevaudan 

  • More than 100 wolves in semi-liberty, wolves in Poland, Canada and Mongolia 
  • Hours: 10am to 19pm (July and August) 
  • Open daily from February to December

Continue towards Nasbinals by D900. 

Before Nasbinals: Cascade et Deroc Cave

In Nasbinals, visit the Church of the tenth century and the view over the Massif de l'Aubrac. 

You can taste the beef from the Aubrac accompanied Aligot or Truffade, or Nasbinals At Bastide, is on the way to the lakes or the Born Buron Relay Bonnecombe Lakes. 

Nasbinals leave by road Lakes, D52 to La Canourgue, discover burons. 

A stop at La Canourgue, Little Venice Lozère downtown, the Clock Tower and the Collegiate Church. 

Take direction Sainte Enimie for the return, stop at the panorama Cabrunas (6km before Ste Enimie) to admire the gorges of the Tarn.

For lovers of castles after visiting the wolves, continue to the bush to visit the Château de la Baume (common Prinsuéjols), Petit Versailles Lozérien:

Details of the day 

At Sainte Enimie, direction Florac by D907bis, 3 kms from Prades take the small road on the right Castelbouc, camping and cross a small bridge over the Tarn, park after the pizzeria and visit this picturesque village, bypassing the rocky outcrop on which stands the ruined castle. 

Back on the main road by the same route or along the Tarn on the right bank to Montbrun, cross the bridge and take the road to Florac. 

A Florac, follow the signs for the Cevennes National Park to visit the museum. 

The Cevennes National Park

  • Geology, flora and fauna of the Park

  • Visit: on your own, no guide 

Visit the old door and Florac Templar, the source of sin, the resurgence in the heart of the city, as waterfalls and ponds with trout. 

Back to Sainte Enimie and 2 km, turn right towards Pont de Montvert. 

At Montvert bridge, nice view from the bridge and visit the museum: 

  • Exhibitions, cultures, tools and dwellings 
  • Opening hours: 10H30-14H30-12H and 18H 
  • Duration of visit: 1H (tour) 

7km Bridge Monvert, we recommend the farmhouse of Le Cantou Poncet reservation on 0466458517 to taste local products.

Back towards the bridge and turn right Montvert, the cascade of runes, easy walking tour (45min).

Through the village of runes and proceed towards the neck Montmirat, detour Barrandon the pond for fishermen, not bathing.

Continue to Menhirs: The panoramic view Bondons, walking tour with free access from car park on CD 35 3kms cervical Montmirat (2H).

Continue towards the neck Monmirat at the crossroads, direction Montmirat straight at the next crossroads follow Molines / Ispagnac.

A Molines either direction Sainte Enimie right or left for a tour of the source plant Quézac (reservations), see the bridge Quézac (1335) and Church of Ispagnac.

Day details

Cross the bridge and take the D986 towards Meyrueis stop the panorama of Saint Chely du Tarn, overlooking the bend of the Tarn and circuses Saint Chely du Tarn and Pougnadoires.

To pass Coperlac turn left to the Mas Saint Chely (1H walk around the chapel of St. Como, blue markers). 

On leaving the village towards Le Buffre (stone crosses the twelfth-thirteenth century on the ancient pilgrimage route of Saint Enimie Saint Guilhem le Desert). 

Hures with its Romanesque church of Saint Privat houses to architecture caussenarde: narrow windows, roofing slate, barrel vault, turn left (D63). 

Le Villaret where you see the Przewalski horses, which explains their presence panel, last wild horse in the world, aims to reintroduce the horse in its native Mongolia. 

Return to Hures then towards the chaos of Old Nîmes; isolated set of rocks with a nature trail (5.5 kms) from the Horn or Galy (selling local products). 

Farm Inn Veygalier: to enjoy the products of the farm, open from Easter to late September (0466456545) on reservation preference. 

Continue through the neck of Perjuret (D18) to Mount Aigoual: panorama, national museum exhibition and the weather with free access and free, open from 10am to 19pm (July and August), the arboretum Hort de Dieu (stroll 2H and beautiful panorama). 

Head toward the abyss Bramabiau, the resurgence of Happiness: spectacular caves and underground river, visit guidée1H30, hourly from 9am to 18pm from April to October. 

Down to Meyrueis through Camprieu and Prat Peyrot, visit the castle of Roquedols (exposure of the Cevennes National Park, information center, trails NFB 1/2H), free tour every Wednesday at 9am. 

Meyrueis village visit or guided tour and FREE 17H Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (excluding holidays). 

Back Sainte Enimie the D986 across the Causse Mejean, stop the panorama of the Roc des Hourtous and Roc de Serre, if you have not done at the circuit Gorges and Causses, Saint Enimie arrival at the bridge, medieval village to visit (or plan to OT in the rent).
