CHATEAU AUZIAS

It is a stone's throw from the City of Carcassonne and the Canal de Midi that Château Auzias Paretlongue operates a vineyard of nearly 110 hectares in the pure Languedoc tradition.

The Château thus produces incomparable wines, in the “IGP Cité de Carcassonne” appellations combining finesse and elegance, and in the “AOP Cabardès” appellation combining power and the richness of Languedoc.

If there are historic places of viticulture in France, Château Auzias is certainly one of them.

Ancient writings mention the existence of a splendid Gallo-Roman villa on the estate, built at the time of the Gallic Wars and destroyed by the Visigoth invaders in 450 AD.

Construction of the estate began in the 12th century, in the middle of the Cathar period, when the land was given to the Church, which established the Priory of Notre Dame de Pareti Longi there.
