Forge de Pyrène

Pyrene forges situated in Ariège are really a huge site of 5 hectares, reconstructing an ancient hamlet. Tourists will make a leap in history by being confronted with 120 jobs, most of which are now extinct: the itinerant trades, agricultural trades, trades aid to domestic life, dedicated to the building trades and professions dedicated to clothing!

The space forges has a collection of over 6,500 objects, some are staged. Facilitators are present to conduct workshops. A key focus of the site: the forging hammer, classified as historical monuments since 1983. Visitors can attend a performance very moving, following the evolution of 85 years of life Baptistou. The different moments of his life are recounted and attracting a lot of emotions!
