Château d'Estaing
Remains of the illustrious family d'Estaing gave the history of Rouergue in France and that many people, military and religious. One can cite, among the most illustrious, Tristan d'Estaing, the hero of the battle of Bovines, Cardinal Pierre d'Estaing, François, bishop of Rodez and Charles-Henri, Admiral, commander of the French fleet sent to support the war Independence of the United States.
In 1794, the building seized and divided, is sold by the state as national property. From 1836 the castle became the mother house of the Congregation of St. Joseph religious d'Estaing before being transferred to the town of Estaing in 2000. Historical Monument in 1945, in 2005 the building became the property of SCI Château d'Estaing made by Valery Giscard d'Estaing, President of the Republic from 1974 to 1981. Restoration work is underway to restore the building to its original appearance and make it a place of memories.
