Tourism - Yvelines

Yvelines is a French department that is part of the region Iles-de-France. It is surrounded by the departments of Val-d'Oise, Hauts-de-Seine, Essonne, Eure-et-Loir and Eure. Main cities are Versailles, Mantes-la-Jolie, Rambouillet and Saint-Germain-en-Laye.

The department has numerous tourist sites such as the regional natural park of ‘Haute-Vallée de Chevreuse’ as well as a part of the Park of ‘Vexin français’; Versaille, the Sun King city and former capital of France, where millions of visitors from around the world come each year to visit the castle; the castle of Saint-Germain-en-Laye; Mantes-la-Jolie; Rambouillet; Dampierre; Choisel and its castle of Breteuil, Thoiry and its castle and zoo are among the gems of this very rich and varied heritage.

Cultural events in Yvelines are: the Festival of ‘Le mois Moliere’ in Versailles, the Poetry Festival in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, the ‘Fêtes des loges’ in Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
