Tourism Meursault in burgundy
Meursault is one of the most fortunate villages in the Côte de Beaune. The conditions produce the greatest white wines in the world from the Chardonnay grape. Meursault, capitale of the great white wines of Burgundy has always been an important centre. A neolithic fortified camp, which was later occupied by the Gauls and the Romans dominated the village on the Mont Mélian. In 1137, a frotress was built by Robert de Grancey on the hill of Meursault. Dismantled in 1474 and later refurbished, it is occupied today by the Town Hall. The film "La Grande Vadrouille" was shot on this site.
