Aréna offers, through a unique museography, to discover the hidden world of the dune. An environment dedicated to sand displays the hidden treasures of this mineral. From the white dune to the wooded dune and from the grey dune to the bushy dune, each of them reveal their mysteries and the incredible capacity of adaptation of the plants.

The marks and the signs left by a fauna discreet but at the same time very present, unveil an often unsuspected life. An environment dedicated to man enables us to understand the role that he played, that he plays and that he will be playing in the natural environments. Interactive, entertaining, bilingual and on several levels of interpretation, Aréna will take you on a trip where the "Fox" will guide the small ones and where the dune gives all its secrets. Temporary exhibitions organised during the school holidays (Spring, Summer and Autumn) will give you another perception of the nature and environment, in particular through the imagination of artists.

From the Natural Barn you will be able to walk to the observatory located about 2,300m from there, in the natural reserve of the ponds of Romelaëre. Throughout this path some observation stations are set up which are also written in Braille; they aim at informing you on the landscape, the fauna and the flora of the marsh. Between the reception building and the entrance to the reserve, you will cross the market-gardening marsh where "the cultivated lègres" are separated by ditches called "water gangs". Once you are in the reserve, the way paved with wooden floor will lead you to the discovery of a vast number of different environments. In turn, the ponds, the afforestation, the rose gardens, the meadows will surprise you by their richness. Take time to stop for a few moments at the listening points and observe the birds in the observatory of the point in Birquin. On the way back, you will enjoy a trip in a small rowing boat which will take you from one bank to the other.
