The County of Excideuil is located between the Perigord and the Limousin regions and offers a great diversity of landscapes. In the south, large fertile valleys appear between the chalky 'Causse' lands, great place for truffle picking.

In the north, the Loue and Auvézère valleys appear between the schiste and granite soils at the feet of the mountains. In Autumn, ceps are growing in the woods.
