the River Dronne flows through Riberac which has helped to develop numerous industrial and craftswork activities still working these days.

Today, the river attracts many fishermen, kayaker, ramblers, strollers and rock climbers. Near Riberac the forest of Double is a mysterious place that people should respect.

Touring the Romanesque Churches in Ribérac

The Notre Dame Collegial is dating from the 11th century and hosts contemporary art exhibitions in the summer. It used to be the former castel's chapel built in 1000 and was enterily destroyed during the Revolution. the Collegial is definitely the oldest monument in Riberac.

Small Romanesques churches in White Perigord are strong, sober and comforting, covered with domes and have defense devices and systems eight centuries after they were built. After visiting the collegial a short tour of the surroundings is suggested:

Take the road D20 at 7 km west of Riberac, and you will doscover a village called Bourg-du-Post. To emphasize the architecture of the village, the authorities have installed a light and sound electronic system. The church has been built in the 12th century.
