Erstein, city « urban »

Erstein has a rich natural environment, a natural reserve of 180 ha located at the heart of the Rhenish forest. the richness of the Rhenish silt, the prosperous arable lands, the beauty of the rivers and the unspoiled forests are the best evidences of a good quality of life that makes the Erstein stand out. Also, there is a great cycling track network as well as a footpaths allowing visitors to discover and enjoy this area.

Children can visit a farm and see dairy cows, rabbits, hens... Direct sale of fresh products (milk, potatoes, eggs) Ponys tours for children from 2 to 13 years old are organised in ERSTEIN. Pony housing for free walks in the forest of Krittwald.

The exposition "Erstein, the treasures of the Merovingian" draws the carried out discoveries in 1999 at the time of the construction of a commercial center in the town and that disclosed a nécropole of Merovingian era, the biggest explored in Alsace until now. You can discover daily life of our ancestors around craft industry and funerary practices but also the trade of the archeology and the search techniques. Many manipulations punctuate the journey to playful and colored stagecraft for everyone's pleasure.
