Visit of the museum of L'Isle-Jourdain

Around the object-headlight of the Museum - the " Chime of Bastille" , historic building, this is a thousand of the objects which are presented: large bells of occident and the East, grelots, sonnailles, drums of bronze and wood, rattles and simandres, keyboards and chimes, jewels and toys sound.

The campanological word, former use, Latin campana, bell, is known little, because it disappeared since a score of years of our dictionaries. The campanological art is the art of the bells: their manufacture, traditions and the practices which attach to it, their history. But the campanological approach developed with the European museum of L'Isle-Jourdain wants to be even broader, with an auditorium where the ringings of bells of various countries are presented in Europe, in the concerts of chime, the temporary exhibitions sets of themes, the international exchanges…
