Albens

La Biolle draws its name from Latin " betula" , birch, name of the Celtic origin. It is located at the foot of the mountain of Corsuet and the mountain of Biolle which separates it from the lake of Le Bourget.

The common one counts currently approximately 2300 inhabitants.

The population has strongly increased for 15 years, from 1353 inhabitants in 1990, the population passed to 1779 inhabitants in 1999 then to 1959 inhabitants in 2002.

The surface of the communal territory is of 1303.86 hectares. One counts there 16 hamlets and localities, which most important are the Chief town, Savigny, Roasson, Tarency, the Park and the Villette

Cessens is a small district rural, bordering with Haute-Savoie.

It is located at 700 meters of altitude, with the foot of the Collar of Sapenay, not of passage towards Chautagne.

It is to approximately 15 km of Aix les Baths and 30 km of Chambéry and Annecy.

The tourists and other visitors can thus locate all the visible mountains, lake and river since the various sites.

Epersy of a surface of 320 ha with a population approximately 320 inhabitants is smallest of the communes of the canton of Albens.

Its origins probably go back to the Roman epoch. Its name and its statute evolved during the centuries: Spartiacum in XIe century, Spartziacum in XII century. At the XVII century Epersiacum depended on the County of Cessens. Epersi then Expersy was detached from the Genevese in 1749 and EPERCY in Savoie was attached to the Province of Savoy Propre until 1792…

Saint-Girod is a small rural district, located on left bank of Deysse, vis-a-vis Albens and broadside in North and in the East by communes of the department of Haute-Savoie (Saint-Felix and Chainaz Frasses) with which it maintains good relationships.

Its habitat is dispersed in hamlets of more or less great importance, but all have their history:

In Marcellaz, with the Dovecote and the Villette (attached aujourd' today with the Chief town) three castles offer to the eye of the curious walkers. Built between the XVII and XVIII century, they are always inhabited and in state.

Within the canton of Albens, the Commune of Saint-Germain La Chambotte is only bordering lake of Le Bourget.

With primarily rural, agricultural and wine vocation, with vineyards overhanging the lake, Saint-Germain La Chambotte do not forget therefore to prepare the future according to its tax and human capacities.

Since already a long time, the presence of many footpaths and exceptional site of Chambotte, with its famous Belvédère which saw so many personalities come comtempler the single sight on the lake from Le Bourget and the Alps, make a Commune of it where tourism has all its place and where the living conditions are respectful d' a preserved and pleasant environment.
