Château d'Annecy
Listed building, the castle of Annecy dominates the historic town. The architecture of the castle is composed of elements from different eras such as the Keep the Queen, which dates from the twelfth and tower dating from the fifteenth Perriere.
This mixture of medieval defensive architecture and Renaissance is harmonious. Annecy Castle served as a residence for the Counts of Geneva until the end of the fourteenth before becoming the property of the House of Savoy in the fifteenth. It was then abandoned in the eighteenth century before being bought by the city of Annecy.
It houses a museum since 1953 and has several collections: works of contemporary art, objects of daily life, but also religious works. The castle is also the seat of the Centre of Alpine lakes.
